How we make money
Hard.Money is free for borrowers. Here is exactly who pays us and how it could affect what you see.
Revenue sources
- Lender referral fees. When you submit a funding request, matched lenders may pay us a fee per lead or per funded loan. This never changes your loan terms.
- Directory subscriptions and featured placement. Lenders pay monthly fees to be listed and additional fees to be featured in a state or loan type. Featured listings are labeled and are not recommendations.
- Display advertising. We show ads through Google AdSense and may show other display advertising. Ads are labeled “Advertisement”.
- Affiliate commissions. Some links to software, services or educational products pay us a commission if you buy. These links are disclosed where they appear.
- Sponsorships. Companies may sponsor a guide, calculator, video or contest. Sponsored content is labeled “Sponsored” and does not influence editorial conclusions.
- Reader support. Voluntary contributions from readers via our support page.
How compensation can affect the site
Compensation may affect which lenders appear in featured positions and which products are linked. It does not affect the terms we report for any lender, the content of our guides, or our willingness to publish criticism. Not every lender in the market is listed, and we do not claim to.
What we will not do
- Sell your personal information to data brokers. Your request is shared only with lenders matched to it, as described in our Privacy Policy.
- Accept payment to change a lender's listed data or to remove accurate negative information.
- Advertise lenders that charge advance fees or guarantee approval.
